Short Bio

Maria Colpo was born in 1996 in Schio (VI), Italy.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Engineering in September 2018 and her Master’s Degree in Bioengineering in December 2020, both from the University of Padova, Italy.

Her Master thesis, under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Bertoldo, concerned the implementation of an analysis pipeline to obtain credible structural connectivity from diffusion-based tractography.

After graduation, she received a fellowship from the Istituto Oncologico Veneto (IOV), to evaluate the role of iron metabolism in glioblastoma patients as a target of intervention and as an imaging tool. Preliminary work was to become familiar with the methodologies with two immunohistochemical and clinical datasets collected from melanoma patients under immunotherapy.

In collaboration with the FAIR group she also completed her thesis work, integrating PET analysis to the results obtained from the structural connectivity study.

Since October 2021 she is a PhD student in Neuroscience (XXXVII cycle), under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Bertoldo (Department of Information Engineering, University of Padua).
