Short Bio

Andrea Nordio was born in Chioggia (Venezia, Italy) in 1987. He received a B.Sc degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2009 and a M.Sc degree in Bioengineering in 2012, both from University of Padova. Both his thesis were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Enrico Grisan.

In 2013 he won a studentship to work with pediatric populations MR datasets in IRCCS E. Medea, Bosisio Parini, Lecco, Italy.

Currently he is a PhD Student (XXIX Cycle) in Information Engineering, curricula in Bioengineering, at University of Padova, under the supervision of Dr. Alessandra Bertoldo.

His main research field is related to the biomedical image processing, focused on Magnetic Resonance (MR) datasets of both pediatric and adult populations. He has collaborations with IRCCS E. Medea, and Casa del Sollievo della Sofferenza, San Giovanni Rotondo, Foggia, Italy. His research interests are related to the analysis of functional, structural and diffusion MRI data. Some of his research topics are:

  • the analysis of functional MRI studies, both task based or in resting state;
  • analysis of DTI for patients with cerebellum diseases;
  • super-resolution algorithms to reconstruct high-resolution volumes from low-resolution datasets.
